Getting back up

So, after swooning this weekend, I decided to get back at it tonight. I work full time, and have pretty long days when you factor in the commute, so I don't usually have a lot of time to sew during the week. But I figured, hey, I can catch 20 minutes of the Olympics and bust out a few blocks at the same time, right?

I actually had to start by cleaning up my sewing table a bit, because it was a NIGHTMARE. I didn't mind, too much, because the disaster area was the result of some very productive mug mat production that happened a few days ago.

Once I got the area cleaned up, I had to do some project triage. I've decided to set aside the pansy Irish chain for the time being, but I did unearth my Prairie Paisley blocks, and decided to roll with those. Must have been those patriotic colors calling out to me...

I got another strip set done pretty quickly, which yielded another six blocks. I need to count my remaining jelly roll strips, but I think I have probably another twelve or eighteen blocks to do. In any case, I'm loving these blocks and am already thinking of doing this with another jelly roll very soon! I used this video tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Company to learn the technique I used to put the blocks together.  I have to say - their tutorials are the best.

So, that's my Work in Progress Wednesday! What are y'all working on?
