Getting to know you...

Maybe it's because it's Friday, and the weekend is upon us, but I am feeling all sing-songy today! I was sitting here, lamenting that I don't have much quilty to blog about this week, when I saw Kati's and Sandy's posts answering the "Thirty Questions."  Then Sandy sorta threw down the gauntlet on Twitter for others to follow suit.

 Challenge accepted!

Describe three legitimate fears, and how they became fears:

  1. SNAKES!  In elementary school, we had a classroom snake.  Long story short, one of my friends was being a little careless with her, and she got wrapped around my head and neck. GAHHH!
  2. Scorpions!  We live in the desert, so they're part of the deal, but I am so grossed out by looking at them and never ever EVER want to deal with getting stung by one.
  3. Infertility...  We've been trying for a while, and I don't think I can use the I-word yet for myself, but I've had friends go through it for years and years, and it scares the crap outta me.

Describe your relationship with your parents:
Awesome.  My dad and I were very much alike, which caused a lot of problems during the teenage years, as you can imagine, but we both grew out of that.  :)  He wasn't perfect, but was perfect for me, so when he died when I was 23, it was heartbreaking.  My relationship with my mom changed a bit after that, since it was a rough period for us all, but it changed for the better, for sure.  We're as close as can be, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

  1. Yay! Thanks for taking up the gauntlet! I enjoyed reading your responses. And by the way, in our family, we often say to each other, "Let the geek flag fly!" (Although we also get into long conversations about the difference between nerds and geeks....)
