So, starting with Easy Street.... I've hit a bit of a speed bump. Literally, my speed has slowed waaaay down. I managed to power through the first steps and mostly stay on track, but putting the blocks themselves together has been a slow process for me. I'm chain piecing the blocks, which is a nice way to pick up some steam in a long process like this. Unless you piece them backwards. Oops.
Ahhh.... that's better. These are the corner units for the A blocks all (properly) pieced together:
I still have the other 15 to go, plus all the B blocks, but I feel like I've got some mojo workin' for me now. We'll see if I can catch up to Pam and Daisy and the rest of the gang this weekend!
Easy Street is definitely on my list of projects to finish in the first quarter of this year... Speaking of finishing, have you seen the 2013 Finish-a-Long over at She Can Quilt? This quarter, I'm doing some double duty with my hopeful finishes, because I'm also participating in Crafty Garden Mom's UFO-a-Long Flickr Group. I have to keep reminding myself, my word for 2013 is COMMIT! Keeping it realistic, here are the UFO's/finishes I'm hoping to knock out in the first quarter...
(yes... you've seen these before. But remember - COMMIT!)
Easy Street (not really a UFO, but definitely a needed finish)
My Hometown Swoon - I need a new quilt for my bed... BAD. This is SO getting done.

Countdown to Christmas Star - This is about halfway basted, and it's getting quilted very simply since it's minky backed, so I have no excuse not to finish it.
Odds n Ends Strip Quilt - this is just a simple, little baby quilt that I pieced up back in November, and it will be a super easy finish!
So, there we go! Keeping the list relatively small, so that I can COMMIT to getting these things done!! Of course, I'm hoping that I can get a few other things done this quarter, but if I can knock these out, I'll be doing a happy dance!

Your Swoon block is beautiful! And I love the colors you chose for Easy Street. I like your work for 2013.
ReplyDeleteReally great job on the projects. I know you can do it!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so tough to chain piece all of a unit and find out it was wrong. It might have been more than a speed bump for me. I may have surrendered my license!
ReplyDeleteYour fabrics for Easy Street are so fresh and fun!
Love the Easy Street! Looking pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou deserved the gratification of finishing a block after all that ripping! These all look like fun projects.
ReplyDeleteEasy Street does not look very easy but it is wonderful. Good luck with your commitments to finish.
ReplyDeleteI love your Easy Block! So pretty! I too had to rip but I only did one of each block. Nice job powering through. I am hoping to finish up some blocks this weekend with out any ripping! Good luck on your finishes they look great.
ReplyDeleteYour Easy Street block looks very pretty. I think it's an easy pattern to have a mix up with cause there's so many pieces in the blocks. Love your Swoon block too I have that pattern in my to do list.
ReplyDeleteStick with it, your colours are looking great!
ReplyDeleteOH...sorry about the rewind and redo on the Easy Street! But it looks great! Swoon is definitely one of my "someday" patterns! COMMIT!!! ;)
