WIP Wednesday: Turning a corner on Easy Street

It's been a pretty eventful weekend for the Easy Street mystery quilt! Over the last two days, Bonnie Hunter posted the last two clues, and we all finally got to see what the overall quilt top will look like. Of course, using slightly different colors, each individual's quilt will look slightly different, so I'm excited to get mine finished up!

I got caught up just in time for these last clues to be released. As you may recall, I had to set aside Easy Street for a couple of weeks to get this quilt done. I had a few days off of work after Christmas, so I was able to get pretty much caught up.

I finished Step 3:

Switched over to Step 6:

Came back to Step 4:

And finally did Step 5:

Yes, entirely out of order, but got 'em done! I worked on Step 7 on New Years Eve, and got the corner triangles done.  Then on New Years Day, I got the setting triangles done to finish up Step 7:

The final clue gave us instructions to construct the blocks from all the various bits that we've been making all along. I ran into a snag when I did some chain piecing backwards, so me and the seam ripper have gotten awfully friendly.

I'm still in the midst of block building (and no in progress pics yet), and like how they're coming out. I'm thinking that the quilt is featuring the greens more than I'd hoped - I was really looking to focus on the aqua more. However, I still have borders to add, and will likely put more aqua there. Here's hoping I get this fully finished soon!

  2. Yours is looking good. I am caught up with the pieces but did not get the corners done nor anytime to sew the blocks. Now it is back to work:( Can't wait to see yours together!
