Fifteen Minutes

This morning has had a rocky start.  Within 15 minutes of waking up, all of the following happened:
  • I dropped a very full glass of water on the carpet in my bedroom.  It was more of a throwing movement, than a simple drop, so there was water to clean up everywhere
  • I made it downstairs, only to realize that I forgot to turn off the alarm clock, so back upstairs I had to go to stop the screeching.
  • And I started sneezing like crazy.  Leading me to blow my nose.  At which point I have a major tissue blowout.  GROSS.  And I'm still sneezing.
UGH!!!

However, it's not gettin' me down.  Nope.  Nosiree.  That's because it only took me 15 minutes to whip this up!

This is why I love having a 64-pack of crayons in my sewing studio...

It's the beginning of my project for Project QUILTING! I've been a bit slack this year in participating, at least officially.  I've actually got a few small projects started that are inspired by the challenges that Kim's thrown down, but this week, I'm determined to get an actual entry done in time!  This week's challenge is Wish Upon A Star.  I did a little googling and pin-surfing earlier this week to get a bit of inspiration.

I fell in love with this giant vintage star quilt that I saw over at Red Pepper Quilts, and decided to do a little twist on it.  I'm making mine more patchworky, and a little more thematic as far as the color placement goes. I've got a Twirl layer cake that I'm planning to use, and I'm hoping that tonight I can get it all chopped up into the appropriate bits.  I'm planning on this finishing up as a baby sized quilt, so it should be pretty easy to work up by the Sunday deadline.
