Czech Mate

I grew up with an uncommon last name, and for years, the family suspected that it was Polish.  When I started working for the company that I still work for, I met my friend, Dimitri.  When we introduced ourselves, the first thing he said was, "oh, you're Czech, too!"  Huh?  I did a little digging, and it turns out he was right!

Years later, and Dimitri and I are still friends, and he and his wife are expecting their first baby! How could I not make a little quilty treat for the new little one?

I wasn't able to get great pics of this, as I pushed it pretty close to her due date.  I used the yellow brick road pattern, since it's FQ friendly and I was able to find a little FQ bundle featuring pink and owls - the only lead I could get from Dimitri about the nursery!  This is also the first quilt I've done using bamboo batting, and it is sooooooo soft and drapey - I love it!

Sweet dreams, little one!
